- Cases and Screen Protectors
The most common cause of a premature death of a smartphone is physical damage. The best way to physically protect your phones is with phone cases and screen protectors. Now there are obviously varying degrees of quality when it comes to cases as well screen protectors. We suggest cases that have some sort of impact resistance. As far as screen protectors go, that also depends heavily on personal preference, some people have the feel of glass or plastic screen protectors, so if you are one of those people, we suggest trying Liquid Glass, which will strengthen the existing screen while not losing the feel that you are already used to.
- Battery Health
Outside of physical damage, the most common cause of an early grave for a smartphone would be a dead or dying battery. There are a few things you can do to help increase your battery life, the best way would be to (whenever possible) not let it get down under 50%. If you can manage to do this and keep it between 50-100% battery percentage, it will Greatly increase the longevity of the life of the battery. Another way would be to not overstress the battery, such as by leaving it in the sun or an otherwise hot location. This can cause it to overheat, which can cause the phone to shut itself off. So try to avoid that as often as possible.
- Replace a dead battery rather than the whole phone.
Even if you do everything by the book in order to keep the battery healthy, chances are it will still die before the phone will. In those cases it is always much cheaper to buy a new battery for it then it is to buy a whole new phone.- Deleting old apps that you don’t use anymore
Deleting old, unused apps can really have an impact on the performance of phones. Phones have limited amount of storage and memory, afterall. Routinely going through your phone to delete apps you don’t use anymore can clear out a huge amount of space and resources on your phone.
